About
Robert Tjalondo is a Dutch-Indonesian photographer and artist based in Rotterdam. Educated at HKU University of the Arts Utrecht and with over 15 years of photographic experience, he explores themes of identity, migration, and community through portraiture and socially engaged storytelling.
His ongoing project Faces of Rotterdam portrays the city’s 170+ nationalities and has grown into a short film that premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) 2025. The project continues to expand through exhibitions, publications, and community events, offering space for dialogue about diversity, belonging, and cultural heritage
Alongside his artistic work, Robert collaborates with cultural and social organisations and leads commissioned projects through Rockin’ Pictures.
